Account Adjustment

You can create an electronic account balance adjustment. Simply create a new account entry record, select the radio button to the left of the words "Account Adjustment" and click the Continue button.

Select a category from the Type of Adjustment drop-down list that best describes the type of account adjustment that has been made. Enter a custom description if an appropriate selection does not appear in the list. Provide the dollar amount of the adjustment in the "Adjustment Amount" field.  Data for the "Type of Adjustment" field is automatically entered when you select the Reconcile Electronic Checkbook menu option and successfully reconcile your account.

Enter a positive number if the adjustment is to be added to the account balance or a negative number if it is to be deducted from the account balance.

Account Adjustments are automatically created, calculated, and recorded when you select the Reconcile Electronic Checkbook menu option and successfully complete the steps required to reconcile your account.

NOTE: The first transaction record for each bank account created in the database should be an "Account Adjustment" that establishes a starting balance for the checking account.

TIP: Select the Reconcile Electronic Checkbook menu option to create account adjustments as soon as you obtain your monthly bank statement.
